Gavin Bennett – Head of Baseball and Sports Recruiting for Africa

Gavin Bennett brings a wealth of expertise to the BRUSA Sports Global team as the Head of Baseball and Other Sports Recruiting for Africa. With decades of experience in both professional and collegiate sports, Gavin is dedicated to helping young athletes achieve their dreams of studying and playing at a high level in the USA.

Professional Baseball Scouting & Coaching Experience

Gavin served as an Associate Scout for the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club from 2007 to 2017 and currently scouts for the Tampa Bay Rays. Over the course of his career, he has successfully signed three athletes to professional contracts in the USA. His deep involvement in South African baseball at both regional and national levels. This includes coaching the National team in multiple World Championships, and as a pitching coach for age groups ranging from U15 to U23. This has earned him a reputation as one of South Africa’s most respected baseball coaches. Recently, he was part of the senior national team that won the African Continental Cup.

Passion for Athlete Development

In addition to his work in baseball, Gavin has helped place numerous athletes in various sports at colleges and universities across the USA. His passion lies in guiding young athletes to not only excel in their sport but also to secure opportunities for higher education. His commitment to helping student-athletes balance academics with athletics makes him a valuable asset to BRUSA Sports and the athletes he mentors.
